With Control Spires made by the Digimon Emperor, the original digidestined's digimon couldn't digivolve to Champion. With Digi-Eggs, the new digidestined could make their digimon armor digivolve to Armor-level. There are Digi-Eggs for all of the Crests from season 1. Davis was given eggs for Tai and Matt's crests. Yolei was given eggs for Sora and Mimi's crests. Cody was given eggs for Izzy and Joe's crests. T.K. and Kari had eggs for their own crests. Davis and Willis have golden Digi-Eggs. There is also a Digi-Egg of Kindness because of Ken's Crest of Kindness even though Ken never recieved the egg. There is a Digi-Egg of Darkness that wasn't in the show or card game.
