Digivolution

I. Definition of Digivolution

Digivolution is what takes place when a digimon evolves from one level to a more powerful level. This is usually used to help them fight in a battle.

III. Methods of Digivolution

Regular Digivolution
Used to describe a normal digivolution. In Adventure, this included digivolution that increased the digimon's level up to ultimate. In Tamers, it described digivolution from rookie to champion.

Dark Digivolution
This happens on accident when a digimon feels pressured to digivolved. It turns the digimon into an uncontrolable dark digimon. It first happened in Adventure when Tai pressured Greymon to digivolve. Greymon dark digivolved into SkullGreymon. In Adventure 02, The Digimon Emperor forced Greymon to digivolve and he accidently digivolved to SkullGreymon. In Tamers, Takato pressured WarGrowlmon to digivolve into mega, and WarGrowlmon became an uncontrollable Megidramon.

Warp Digivolution
This term is from Adventure. It described a digimon digivolving from rookie straight to mega.

Armor Digivolution
This digivolution requires a digiegg and a rookie digimon. This digivolution was first used in Adventure 02 when control spiers prevented regular digivolution. Armor digimon are basically the same level as champion digimon.

DNA Digivolution
DNA Digivolving is when two digimon combine and each of their strongest points make up a digimon of a higher level. The concept was introdueced in Digimon The Movie's Our War Game.

Mega Digivolution
This happened in Adventure 02 when Paildramon digivolved to a mega-level Imperialdramon.

Mode Changing
This happened in Adventure 02 when Imperialdramon changed from Dragon Mode to Fighter Mode. In Tamers, Gallantmon mode changed to Crimson Mode. Mode changing doesn't change the digimon's level.

Matrix Digivolution
In Digimon Tamers, when a digimon used a Blue Card to digivolve to ultimate.

Biomerging
Biomerging happened in Tamers. It is when a human combines with their rookie-level digimon to become a mega-level digimon.

Spirit Evolution
This is used in Frontier when a human spirit evolves to a human hyrid digimon.

Beast Spirit Evolution
This is used in Frontier when a human spirit evolves to a beast hyrid digimon.

Slide Evolution
This is used by the hyrid digimon to change between human and beast hyrids. The evil hyrids use this as well.

Fusion Evolution
This spirit evolution is very similar to DNA digivolving. Only Takuya and Koji used this evolution. They spirit evolved to a digimon that had parts of both their human and beast hyrids.

Unified Spirit Evolution
This spirit evolution uses the power of all 10 spirits. Takuya uses 5 and Koji uses 5. They spirit evolve to EmperorGreymon and MagnaGarurumon.

Ancient Spirit Evolution
This happens when all the spirits are used to make 1 digimon that Takuya and Koji shared. This is how Susanoomon was made.

Burst Evolution
This is used in Data Squad when a mega digimon mode changes to burst mode.
